Hospital and such
Hi all...
Just to keep you updated - Serry took up temporary residence in the hospital yesterday afternoon. Her counts had bottomed out and she was low on blood, platelets, etc. In fact, as of yesterday, she was down to 100 platelets--when 100,000 is normal!! Yikes!
After a good night of fluids, platelets, blood, and whatever else they could throw at her, her numbers have started climbing. She said she's feeling better and is so thankful for the transfusions!
Leave her a note here to help her keep her spirits up!!

Serry,
I am glad to hear that things are looking up for you. As one Christian to another. I really hope for a speedy recovery for you. I hope you can bounce in to yourself again. It must be nice to have a good sister like Emily or to me A.E. Jones who loves and cares for you. Take Care and I hope that the light of Jesus Christ will remain shining in you. I hope that Jesus can continue to heal you , love you and take care of you. Take Care , Serry.

Hey Ser...
I've been thinking about you a ton again lately. I wanted to try to see you, but I'm glad I didn't as I came down with a nasty flu. So, I shall continue to wait patiently.
Random tidbits- Kimberly's cat is going to be having kittens, and hopefully, I'll be getting one of them. The mares are doing fine, Lady is going to turn 28 at the beginning of May! Yes, she still thunders around like she owns the place (which she does.) Mom, Dad and K just got back from Vegas, luckies! I guess they got their hotel room for only 39 bucks a night! Who can beat that?!? Mom's trying to keep up with the weeds in the new landscaping and is fighting a losing battle.
As for me, the tax man was *not* nice, which is lame. I'm tired of being a grownup. Other than that, just working and sleeping. I just upped my hours again (thanks, Uncle Sam) and will hopefully be able to drop them by the end of summer. It was nice "only" working 40 hours for a few weeks, and now I'm back up to 60. Such is life.
I've decided that I want to save up for a kayak. I don't know why, but the thought of paddling for hours and hours with no phone, no talking (shocking, I know *grins*) and just the sound of the waves and my paddle in the water sounds SO alluring. How about it? Wanna kayak with me? I'll try to be quiet for minutes at a time!! It'll be hard, but we suffer for friendship LOLOLOL
Hang in there girl, keep tying those knots in the ends of your ropes!
Hi Serry!
I am a friend of Emily's. I'm in her bible study group. I just wanted to let you know you are often in my prayers. Me and the other ladies in our group try hard to keep Emily's spirits up and also do our part to keep her healthy by not sharing our yucky germs with her so that she can continue to see you as often as possible. I will continue to pray for your health and strength.

Serry, It sound like it has been a rough week for you! I am still amazed at how you have been able to keep your spirits up and to keep taking your battle one day at a time! You are an amazing person! Keep up the fight! We are praying for your continued strength and endurance. Love ya, Brandie
Hi Serry,
Wishing you the best as always, especially when times get really tough. Things have been pretty busy here in the ole CB for the past few days - the various advisory boards are here plus the Business Plan Competition has kept things hopping. I thought of you again the other day when I noticed how nice and neat all my cords are - I believe that was your doing - bundling them up. I miss you and think of you often. Cyber hugs...

Serry, We think of you often and pray for you daily. This is such a difficult journey and we pray the Lord will carry you in his loving arms as you travel down the path. Keep strong and positive. So glad to read about the great game of scrabble. These activities make the days go by more quickly and lighten your heart. God Bless, Mike and Elaine emans
Hi serry, how are you. hope your feeling better so you can get out and enjoy this sun shine. who knows how long we can keep it. Keep up the good work. you are an inspiration to everyone. Give your mom a hug for me. Much love to you all Judy M
Hey Serry, glad to see you were able to pull through Wednesday and that you responded to the help the hospital was able to give. You are amazingly strong and I am looking forward to when we get to meet in person.
Serry,
I hope you are doing better. Here in Pullman, our spring bulbs have been out for maybe a week and a half, and it's been gorgeous! Today is supposed to get up close to 80, but 65 tomorrow and 50s with rain by Thursday. Trying hard to enjoy today! It's been a long winter and I'm glad to see the start of warmer weather.
Things are hectic right now in the offices. We have pre-registration going on, and of course, sections are filling up. That means more students coming into the offices to get on waiting lists for various classes. Wish we could accommodate everyone, but unfortunately, we can’t. Our spring banquet is this Friday, which means a lot of visitors coming from all over the country, and quite a bit of work in the office. Then the week after next is finals. Wow, after a fairly slow start, this semester really went by quickly! Summer school starts in less than three weeks. Amazing.
I'm glad you have family so close. I can't imagine doing this on your own or away from such a great support group. We miss you in Pullman. Take care of yourself.
Lorie
P.S. A joke for you:
Coin Toss Test
A statistics major was completely out of it the day of his final exam. It was a true/false test, so he decided to flip a coin for the answers. The stats professor watched the student the entire two hours as he was flipping the coin ... writing the answer... flipping the coin ... writing the answer.
At the end of the two hours, everyone else had left the final except for the one student. The professor walked up to the student's desk and interrupted him, saying, "Listen, I have seen that you did not study for this statistics test, and you didn't even open the exam. If you are just flipping a coin for your answers, what is taking you so long?"
The student replied bitterly, as he was still flipping the coin, "Shhh! I am checking my answers!"
Hey Serry, I was just checking in to see how you are doing. I hope that you are feeling a bit better. Are you still in the hospital or are you are home now? Well, I just wanted you to know I was thinking of you and hope you're on the mend!
Love, Brandie
P.S. it is suposed to be 97 degrees here today!! That seems a bit hot for April don't you think! You need to get better soon so you can come down here, relax, soak up some rays and that good old vitamin D!
Serry,
Spring has sprung on the Palouse. First the crocus and daffodils and now my flowering cherry tree! Love the sun, it is healing, so make sure you get a good dose every day. Probably harder to do on the west side;) Your 'stars' are still up in offices around the building. A reminder that you are thought about every day! My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Just checking in to see how you're doing. Keep it up Serry! We all believe in you.
