Quick Update

Just a quick update... I have yet to talk to anyone THERE, but Serry was admitted to the hospital today. Sounds like she was having a bit of a rough time of it, and hasn't been able to eat or drink for awhile, so this is going to be a perfect solution (at least in my opinion!). It means she can be hooked up to an IV that will get fluid and things in her--including all of her medicines!--so that she doesn't have to swallow using her poor burned throat.

So please say a few prayers for our Serry--and remember... only TWO DAYS OF RADIATION LEFT!!!

If you're a reader here, post a comment today! :) (and NO, it doesn't matter if you don't personally know Serry... If you're one of my friends, you can at least tell her how cool her sister is! hehe)

well, the good news is exactly as Emily put it... you don't *have* to swollow. AND, you are SOOMGTHISCLOSE to having your break! Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Years, V Day are coming... THEN BIRTHDAYS!!! I don't know about you, but I'm going back to counting months like an infant for my birthday. 'Becca is 29 and 12 months.' 'Becca is 29 and 18 months...' I'll take up counting again when I'm in my mid 40's. I see the 30's as being a waste of numbers and wrinkles!!!!

BTW, since you've got flowers coming out of your nostrils, I've decided on the perfect pressie for you! Something that will help keep you warm, that you can snuggle with, that loves you unconditionally...

I'm getting you a St Bernard puppy for xmas! Grace and Ron won't mind, I'm sure! When it gets too big, it can live in a stall ;)
So, be on the lookout!

Also, another memory. Remember spring of Sophomore year, Vern's class and the roses? Every couple of days there would be a rose on your desk. Did I ever tell you they were from me? No, I wasn't hitting on you! I love your smile that much, that seeing you glow and look around made my day. I would cut one on the way down to the bus (Mom didn't notice LOL) then put it in my locker until 3ed period, bust my hump to get outta pe to the locker and be the first one in the room to put it on your desk, then go run around in the halls until right before you came in. Wow, this seems creepy... ANYWAY. I'd pop in my desk and watch your dimple slip out when you saw it. ((Jeremy Beckley smelled one of them onetime and I thought my heart was going to beat right out of my chest, I was *thisclose* to swooning. I had the *biggest* OMG crush on him!!LOLOLOLOLOL))

Remember Vern's love for Sandra Bullock? I wonder if his walls at home are papered in her pics like his podium was heh.

Hey Bauer!

We're missing you over here in OT! Two more days and then you can rest a bit and get some healing done. When you're done on Thursday ring that bell so hard we can hear it here in Pullman!

Hurray, Hurray, it's almost Friday! You hang in there sweetie and let your body suck up all those good fluids coming to you through that IV. You are a strong woman and your mind will force your body to listen. If I could share some of your pain and fatigue I would. Know that you are being cradled in the love of those who know you and rest, rest, rest during your 6 weeks off, so you are strong going into the next battle.
Love and prayers, Barbara (MgtOp)

Serry, I was going to tell you to rest up while you're in the hosp, but I've never known hospitals to be restful places. Praying that angels will stand guard around your bed.

Much love.

Hey there Serry, I hope you are feeling a bit better after heading to the hospital to get an IV. I am sure you are getting a bit sick of the hospitals but I am praying you get the rest you need and that you stay strong over the next 2 days! I am thrilled for you that your 1st round of treatments is almost over! Just keep hanging in there! I can't wait to see you back to your healthy self!
Love, Brandie

Ms. Serry,
First of all, you have some amazing sisters! Emilie made me say that but I know in my heart that it is true. Not to mention great parents (extras on both sides) who love you more than words can say. Just a couple more days and you will get a break from this. Maybe in a week or two you might actually WANT to eat/drink something again. Hang in there, Ms. Serry. The first big hurdle is almost over.

Since I've only met you a couple times I'll follow her advice and tell you how great she is..

I've been following your progress and can say God is good and I look forward to hearing about the end of this time in your life so you can get on with the things you love and the dreams you have..

Hey, Serry! I was wondering if you'd had any of the "burning" from radiation, and where it would hit you. The throat! Yikes! Good excuse to eat fudgsicles, I guess, but you can't live on 'em! I hope the IVs have helped you to feel better. I missed a couple of days reading your blog, so today is the day get to play with bells! I hope you rang it off the wall! I'm glad you have some "time off." What a world, huh? When getting better is a full time job! Here's hoping you'll be able to quit that job soon! Get lots of good rest, and enjoy your time with your family & friends! Warm hugs! Ann
