Just a quick update...

Emily here again... Just a quick update because that's what I got from the hospital crew. ;)

Serry's all snuggled in at the hospital (note that I said that sarcastically... she's going to be poked and prodded all night long). I don't know all of the details yet, but it looks like they'll be starting radiation and chemo tonight or tomorrow, she gets a spinal tap, they're continuing to do biopsies, and bringing in a geneticist to check out family history.

I know that there's a bunch more that's going on, but we didn't have a lot of time to talk. Her mom and dad are totally supporting her through this, and our aunt is even up there!

It's time to rev up the prayers and love--radiation and chemo aren't the most fun things in the world--and we need Serry strong and fighting!

Thanks for everything, everyone.

Thanks for the update. Serry - please know that you and your entire family are in the thoughts and prayers of many people far and wide. I know you're as strong willed as your sister and that's a GREAT thing. Keep up the fight. (Kelly Robison - no blog id...I'll have to get one so I don't appear as anonymous!)

Dear Serry,
This is your dad's "favorite cuz" (I bet he tells all of us that) from Virginia. It sounds like you've got your work cut out for you, kiddo, but if you are as tough as your old dad, along with a huge dose of Grace (both God's Grace and your beautiful mom)and Mercy, you will come out on top. Please know that all in our family (Virginia, Kentucky, Wyoming, Washington, South Dakota, North Carolina, Colorado, Missouri, Nebraska and California) are putting up massive prayers and are sending you all the love in our hearts. These prayers and love extend to all your family. Cousin (2nd) Judy Weltman

Serry, Honey! Ann from the WCRER here. You're in my thoughts and prayers! I'm glad you have your family close to help you through your treatment. Tell them not to forget the fudgesicles! You are very missed, here, and not just for your MS Communicator authorizations! I'll talk to you soon, Ann

Can someone email me where she's staying so I can visit for a few minutes if it's in Seattle?

Hey, Sam -
That's REALLY sweet of you to want to visit Serry! :) I'll make sure she knows--I'm sure she'll appreciate it! For now, though, we're just letting her rest and gear up for her next steps of getting healthy... heck, *I* haven't even been to see her yet, and I'm her sister! :)

As I said, though--thank you for the offer to visit... and when she's up to having visitors, we'll let you know. In the meantime, you can keep updated here!

Serry,
You are in the thoughts every day of so many people here at work. We are concerned and miss you, but know that you are in the care of your loving family over on the West side. Don't hesitate to let any of us know if you need virtually anything, anytime. We'll miss you at the Law Committee this week!
Bev Makhani
XOXO and best regards to your family
